CRIME PREVENTION
The Industry Station Crime Prevention Unit is comprised of deputies who have special training in designing, establishing and implementing programs for the community. These programs are designed to help schools, businesses, community/parent groups and our children.



 

COMMUNITY BASED PROGRAMS
   
*999 Run For Kids Annual 5K-10K
This race benefits severely abused and physically disabled children under the supervision of the Department of Family Children Services. The race is a cooperative effort between Industry Sheriff's Station and the Industry Manufacturers Council.

Asian Task Force (ATC)
This program has specially trained Deputies to assist in building a close relationship with the Asian community. ATC Deputies investigate Asian gangs and other criminal activity affecting the Asian community.

Bike Program
Teach Middle and high school students to build and repair bicycle's.

YAL sponsored camp offered twice each year, one for boys and one for girls. These camps are held in cooperation with local schools and offer teamwork and motivational training for youth ages 12-14 years.

Christmas Food and Toy Give Away
Provides local needy families with food and gifts. Last years this program provided for the needs of 200 families and over 800 children.


 
Equestrian Volunteers On Patrol
Mounted Volunteers On Patrol serving as the "eyes and ears" of the Sheriff's Department in the open park areas of Hacienda Heights and La Habra Heights. Riders are trained to observe and report suspicious activity.

This is a joint program with the Hacienda/La Puente Unified School District. This program is dedicated to equip high school students with the knowledge to enter the law enforcement profession or other related fields.

Law Enforcement Explorers
Sheriff's Department sponsored Explorer Post for youth. Youth are trained in law enforcement procedures and assist in special events such as parades and lost child searches.

Loving Arms
Volunteers who are willing to respond to the station to care for small children, toddlers and infants in the temporary custody and care of Industry Station.

Kid Print
A security program for children which includes your child's fingerprints, photograph, and physical description.

Parent Survival Guide
Handbook for parents providing information, tips, and intervention techniques for parents. This book is offered in English, Spanish, Korean, and Chinese.

Reserve Forces
Reserve Deputy Sheriffs who receive law enforcement training and serve their community as voluntary Deputies. While on-duty, Reserve Deputies have the same duties and responsibilities as full-time Deputies.

(Youth scuba diving) Offered twice a year, local youth (ages 14-18 years) are instructed in scuba diving, including a dive at Catalina Island.

Year round sports activities sponsored by the Sheriff's Department and private donations. Local youth are afforded the opportunity to participate in organized sports at no expense. Each youth is given a uniform and awarded a trophy at the end of each season. Flag Football, Baseball, Basketball, Tennis, Girls Softball, Fishing, Special Field Trips/Events (i.e. professional sporting events, circus, etc.), Scuba Diving (SHARK), Camping (Camp COURAGE), S.M.A.R.T.( Education Program).

 

Station Volunteers
Community members serving the station and the community by assisting in such programs as Desk Operations, Crime Prevention, Fingerprinting, Role Playing, and victim assistance.

Tip-A-Cop
An annual event held in cooperation with the local Red Lobster restaurant where Deputies serve as "waiters". All tips earned benefit the Special Olympics.

Volunteer Clergy Program
Local clergy members who volunteer to assist Deputies and the community in areas such as suicide, death notifications, domestic violence, violent crime, etc. Clergy members are available 24 hours per day.

Volunteers On Patrol (VOP)
Community members patrolling the areas in which they live. These volunteers are exposed to non-hazardous situations and act as the "eyes and ears" of the Sheriff's Department by reporting suspicious and criminal activity. Volunteers assist in areas such as vacation checks, school zones, and traffic control.

YAL Golf Tournament
Annual charity golf tournament benefiting the children of the Youth Activities League in our area.

The Emergency Preparedness Network is a cooperative effort between the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, Los Angeles County Fire Department and California Highway Patrol to assist and train the community in responding to emergency situations.
